 The BFI Central website is publicly accessible. All pages are hosted under the domain www.bficentral.org. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites linked from, or referenced by www.bficentral.org. School social media platforms are monitored but we are unable to take responsibility for third party comments and site advertising that could be accessed by browsing these sites.

BFI Central takes every precaution to protect users' information. When users submit sensitive information via this website, it is encrypted and remains secure during all stages of transmission. BFI Central complies with all French and European legislation requiring safeguards on specific types of information.

BFI Central will process the personal data you provide us. With regard to such processing, BFI Central will qualify as data controller.

In this capacity, BFI Central strives to comply with applicable data protection regulations, such as the European General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 and the Loi Informatique et Libertés of August 6, 2004 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data, as may be amended from time to time. This BFI Central Privacy Notice (hereinafter “Notice”) explains how we collect and use personal data, who we share it with and the ways in which we protect your privacy while doing so. This Notice applies to all personal data collected for and on behalf of BFI Central. BFI Central reserves the right to make changes to this Notice from time to time, for example in the light of new developments or new legislation.  It is recommended that you consult this Notice regularly.

We collect your personal data through a form on our website. This submission is voluntary.

BFI Central processes your personal data for the following purposes, and other purposes that are compatible with the purposes described below:

  • to make you aware and inform you about news and events related to the BFI;
  • to communicate with you within the framework of your relationship with BFI Central;

Your personal data is shared internally within BFI Central for the purposes of delivering the services required. We will not share your data with third parties.

IX. Photographs and videos 

Photographs and videos of may be taken during BFI Central organized webinars or events. We will only process and use such photographs and videos if and to the extent we have obtained your consent where required under applicable data protection legislation to do so.

Individuals that enroll on our mailing list exercise a number of rights with regard to the processing of their personal data vis-à-vis BFI Centrral, in so far as they effectively have those rights under applicable data protection legislation, such as the European General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 and the Loi Informatique et Libertés of August 6, 2004 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data, as may be amended from time to time.

BFI Central shall respond to such requests and may or may not act upon them, in principle within a period of one month, all in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

The rights which you may have under applicable data protection legislation are:

  • Right to object – the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation to the processing of personal data based on the legitimate interests of BFI Central, and the right to object to the processing for direct marketing purposes.
  • Right to information and access – to request access to and a copy of the personal data BFI Central holds on you, as well as the right to information about relevant aspects of the data processing by BFI Central. This Notice serves to inform you thereon, but do get in touch if you have any questions.

  • Right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making – the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

Where the processing of your personal data is based upon consent, you and/or your child have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Such withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before the withdrawal.

There may be instances where you may not want us to process or share your personal information. In these cases, we may not be able to fulfil the service you need, or do so in a limited way, or be able to comply with a statutory obligation. In those instances, we will not be able to comply with your request and we will tell you if this is the case.
